Why did you agree to serve on the Leadership Lynchburg Council?
Community is vital. Whether that is the community in which we all live or a community of professionals committed to growth and development. Being surrounded by people who pour into you and walk beside you is something that we all need. I am honored to have the opportunity to help shape and guide the Leading Lynchburg curriculum and be a part of a community that supports, encourages, adds positivity and value, into the lives of our participants and each other.

Something that stands out as impactful from your Leadership Lynchburg experience?
The team-time that I spent working on a non-tangible issue was so very different from the team-time I spent day to day working on the built-environment. Focusing on an issue that is so multi-faceted and also one that had the potential to be very volatile and political was much harder to navigate around than the opinions of the best way to handle aesthetics on building design. The impact this had on me was that I learned to work much harder on listening and exactly how to phrase my opinions in this different setting.
Why did you agree to serve on the Leadership Lynchburg Council?
I agreed to serve because I valued my own time in the program, and I realize that it doesn’t just happen spontaneously without careful thought and execution behind the scenes.
